A New Shipment of Slowdown Studio

A small update today, but filled with wanderlust. New from Slowdown Studio are two new blankets, one kids blanket, and one familiar face.

Slowdown Studio blankets are the statement gift. How often does your source of comfort also come from a stunning work of art? Made with a jacquard weave, these blankets have striking designs that features the design inverted on the back for an interesting two-toned look.

Each blanket is made in collaboration with different artists, and they often run competitions to find new collaborators and designs. There isn't a set "season" for these, and they tend to come out periodically. Most designs you'll probably never see. There are far too many, and we usually only get 1 of each design at a time, and I'm never sure what will be available next time I order.

There do seem to be some evergreen designs (the Moretti and Dumont for example) but I personally have 2 that I haven't seen online since, and every so often I see a picture of something that's very obviously a Slowdown blanket I've never seen before. In case you haven't gathered - I've started a collection. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it.

we can just glaze over the fact that this is inventory news and i'm showing you a picture of a product you cannot buy because i already bought it 4 years ago :) this is the Gabriel throw

Kids' Blankets

The kid blankets are knit woven, and perhaps less delicate since it wasn't made on a loom. The art of these smaller blankets tends to have more playful designs, and would fit in perfectly with a playroom or be the go-to blanket for movie night.

New to the shop is Snake Eyes, though we've had Starry Night a couple times before. This is probably the most stocked we have ever been with the kids' blankets, so if you have a birthday coming up now might be a good time to take a gander.

* In case you missed it ~ Slowdown recently released blanket hangers! These are so beautiful that oftentimes instead of being used solely as a throw, it spends some time on the wall as incredible wall art. They don't call it a statement piece for nothing!
