Did someone say Vegan Caviar?

We'd like to introduce a new brand to our line-up: Zeroe, a plant-based caviar alternative!

Harvested off the southern coast of France, Zeroe crafts their uncanny vegan dupe from sustainably sourced seaweed. With the adventure of replicating plant-based alternatives to foods traditionally sourced from animals is Veganism's greatest exercise in culinary creativity, caviar in particular seems to be quite the undertaking due to its incredibly distinct texture, flavor, and also reputation.

Zeroe has set out to replicate not just the taste of caviar, but the luxury that accompanies it. Available in a small jar, served ideally on ice, found in Michelin Star restaurants... it's hitting the right notes. But how does it taste? And how do they make it?

It starts with suspending the seaweed in water, then extracting and shaping it into spheres to replicate fish eggs. The flavor comes from a mix of spices including laurel, leek, dill, turmeric, etc. The result is crisp- a little salty, a little fishy with a hint of umami, and also rich in iron.

Zeroe set out to create a luxurious plant-based caviar experience that supports marine life and ecosystems, and they really hit the mark! It's recently become my bring-along to dinner parties. It's fun and fancy, goes great with a bag of chips, and so far, at least, I've never had it where someone else has brought the exact same jar of vegan caviar that I have.
